Covid Precautions
Surgically Clean Air Purifier
Dr. Senat and the rest of our team are excited to announce we are providing an environment of clean air for our patients and families. We are utilizing the technologies of Surgically Clean Air to clean, purify and re-energize every cubic foot of air within our dental practice. Surgically Clean Air purifiers contain a six (6) stage filtration system which includes a HEPA-Rx filter that captures 99.998% of all particles down to 0.1 micron, as well as UV-C germicidal light to destroy airborne viruses and bacteria. Surgically Clean Air units are among the World’s Most Advanced Standalone Medical Grade Air Purifiers, and provide the following benefits:
- Remove dust and pollen that affect allergies.
- Eliminate germs and viruses that make people sick.
- Eliminate odors and VOCs that irritate people.
- Re-energize stale indoor air to make breathing easier and leave you feeling more energized.
iWave Air Purifiers
In addition to the Surgically Clean Air purifiers in each treatment room, we have also chosen to add the iWave the technology to our HVAC system.
How iWave Works
iWave is an air purifying device that installs in any duct air conditioning system. When air passes over the iWave, ions produced by the device reduce pathogens, allergens, particles, smoke and odors in the air, creating a healthy environment without producing any harmful byproducts.
iWave uses patented technology, called needle-point bi-polar ionization, to create equal amounts of positive and negative ions. When these ions are injected into the air stream, they break down passing pollutants and gases into harmless compounds like oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen and water vapor (see illustration below).
When the ions come in contact with viruses, bacteria or mold, they remove the hydrogen molecules – without them, the pathogens have no source of energy and will die. The ions also attach to allergens like pollen and other particles, causing them to band together until they are large enough to be caught by your ventilation system’s air filter.
iWave’s technology generates the same ions that nature creates with lightening, waterfalls, ocean waves, etc. Nature uses energy and shear to break apart molecules, naturally cleaning the air and producing a healthy environment. The only difference between the iWave’s technology and nature is that the iWave does it without developing harmful ozone.
Panoramic Xray
There are many benefits of having a panoramic x-ray machine and our office had been pondering whether or not to invest, however, once the pandemic hit, the decision was made for us.
Less Infection control needed…
With traditional bitewing X-rays, the practitioner will have to wrap and unwrap the sensor after each patient; disinfect it and the sensor holder; disinfect the machine tube head, and all its parts; disinfect any soiled countertop areas, as well as dispose of and change gloves. Using the panoramic machine requires no gloves and virtually no between-procedure cleaning or infection control — only replacement of the bite block sleeve, which the patient removes. This is a great addition for our patients, as it limits the times we are in and out of their mouth.
